In the throes of the musical epiphany that was last year, we told you to listen to Matter. I really hope you did, since Teraphim is some of the finest melodic metalcore I’ve had the pleasure of listening to in the past few years. Relying on a strong concept and the great dynamic between band members, the album is groovy, catchy and well written. Now, the fellows at Matter have released a video for ‘A Voice’, off that self-same album. Head on over the jump to see it!
The video itself is nothing groundbreaking but I loved the choice in focusing mainly on the vocalist for the band parts. The “story” parts elucidate some of the prophetic/psychotic themes present on the album and that dynamic I mentioned above really crackles on the studio floor. It was mainly a great reminder to bring this album back into your rotation and once again enjoy the particular sound that Matter pull off so well. Who knows, maybe we’ll even get some new material this year? One can only hope.
