If you’re a Between the Buried and Me superfan like myself, you likely already know that frontman Tommy Rogers’ new solo album Modern Noise (to be released under the Thomas Giles moniker) is complete and is pending release from Metal Blade Records. Rogers evidenced as much by posting a shot of him spinning his Modern Noise vinyl (!!!) test pressing on Twitter. It’s only a matter of time before we get to hear some new music and some solid details like a release date, and the press hype has begun as Rogers teases some new material.
The following video features Rogers and producer Jamie King talking (mostly) offscreen while Rogers plays piano. The chord progression and melody reminds me of something Trent Reznor would come up with — simple and moody. Check it out:
