Okay, I admit it, I slept on Inferi for way too long. It’s been a busy month and so something great was bound to slip by but the important thing is, I’m amending it.
Throwing their bloodied fists into the ever-growing pool of spectacular death metal that has graced us so far in 2014, Inferi have unleashed the crushing and winding rhythms of their third released The Path Of Apotheosis and it’s one hell of a wake up call to those of you who may not have given them the proper time before.
Combining the melodic elements of The Black Dahlia Murder with a large dosage of technicality and fretboard acrobatics, The Path Of Apotheosis is a non-stop showcase of insane riffs and bombastic death metal. And, you don’t have to stretch your imagination too far to hear that a lot of what is going on here is the sound of grandiose classical music being thrust into the brutish hands of death metal. You can stream the entire thing here, courtesy of their Bandcamp page:

However, if you want more of a bite-sized taster of the music then be sure to check out the lyric video for ‘Destroyer‘ below. Believe me when I say, it lives up to the name.
