Hold on to your seat folks because it's about to get zany.

Hold on to your seat folks because it's about to get zany. You might not know this about me, but I love to occasionally step way from the vaulted realms of progressive doom metal and abstract works and get my hands filthy with some crazy, heavy, and angry mathcore, grindcore or noise. Shaving the Werewolf have decided to provide me my dosage of wildness, as their new album God Whisperer hits my inbox a few days ago. Their music is infused with the kind of frenetic, tittering, about-to-explode energy which my heart sometimes can't do without, blending mathcore, grind, noise rock, and any other rage-fueled chaos you can imagine. Enough words; onwards to noise! Check out their full album right below before it releases tomorrow.

Shaving the Werewolf ยท God Whisperer

Hell. YES. From "Sentient Husk" and its metallic pings, dings, and saw-like guitars, through the carnivalesque self-titled track, and all the way to the feedback-yet-somehow-also-choir heavy "Born to Tremble" that closes the album, Shaving the Werewolf know exactly what they are about. This EP is one of the strongest examples of the last few months of how to expertly channel the feeling that everything is this close to falling apart without over staying your welcome or straying into mindless self indulgence. God Whisperer is short, sweet, and filled with exactly the kind of unleashed derision that I find myself hungering for lately.

Make sure to order the album from the band's Bandcamp page when it drops in full tomorrow. You don't want to sleep on this one.
