Besta – Terra Em Desapego (proggish death metal)
Besta used to play grindcore, but you'd never know it from listening to Terra Em Desapego. For this fourth-full length, the Portuguese piledrivers have decided to do away with the grindcore stylings of their previous releases in favour of a more complex and elongated death metal palate that sounds like a mix of the primal prog-death of Atheist and early-Death with that last Black Breath album or something like that. The change could have something to do with the addition of Sinistro guitarist Ricardo Matias to their line-up last year. Then again, it might not; I don't know. Whatever the reason for their reorientation, Terra Em Desapego definitely suggests it was a move in the right direction.
