Hello everyone! It’s 2014, and one of the ways I want to ring in our first week of news and reviews is by showcasing an up and coming band from Hartford/New Haven Connecticut. They’re called Manners, and they play a great blend of post-hardcore and melodic hardcore music. Recently, I’ve found myself engaging a lot more in the post-hardcore scene, and this band just happened to be recommended to me by a good friend who knows what I like. They just put out a new record last Saturday via MorseCode Recordings, and it’s a really solid release. It’s energetic, heartfelt, and very melodic. The vocals work really well with the music in the sense that each song has a different feel to it, giving off a different aura for the listener. The band, according to their bio, was “Est 2010 in a barn in Connecticut”, and I think that sentiment is conveyed through the lyrics and songwriting.
As of now, the band only have two shows coming up in Fairfield, Connecticut with Reign Supreme, Living Laser and Jagged Visions, as well as a show on January 24th in Copiague, New York with Aviator. They said they don’t have any other solid touring plans besides that so far, but that people should expect to see them performing all over in 2014 with the release of their new record.
