Avid followers of the podcast might have noticed me mention Starkill. They’re one of the few American acts holding down the fort of good old melodic death metal. I always admire frontmen who also play guitar, especially in the context of unapologetic melodeath. Unsurprisingly, I’ve been looking forward to this album and it’s great to finally listen to it! Starkill are one of the few, if not the only big-time band this side of the ocean who are keeping the Scandinavian dream alive.
