We’ve got out our eyes and ears closely set on Australia, you already know that, and it’s exactly because they pick up such great, relatively nameless bands. Weightless in Orbit have been a thing for a while now, touring around the country with several recognized names. However, we assume that not all of you are able to fly to Australia for small progressive acts (how I wish I could!) and so we’re very happy to announce that the band have released initial material from their upcoming album, Fractures. Head on over the jump to check it out!

A reader recently asked us if we weren’t getting tired of this style, heavily tinged by Between the Buried and Me influences. To be honest, I’ll never get tired of anything so well executed, regardless of influences. The vocals on this, before clear and guttural, are absolutely brilliant in their clarity and deliverance. The instrumentals are wonderfully composed and manage to keep one entertained throughout the two-part track. And this is just a taste; if the rest if on this level, we’re looking at a brilliant iteration of this style which, frankly, remains one of my favorites. Be sure to keep and eye on their bandcamp and Facebook as we near release and, as always, watch this space for more!
