There’s a lot to be said about the sheer evocative sounds that post-rock can unearth — where This Will Destroy You conjure the vast expanses of still and earthy forests, Explosions In The Sky instead aim upwards to create something far more uplifting. And The Earth Swarmed With Them are much different affair, trading the usually optimist outlook of the genre for something a little bleaker — taking on some of the dense fuzz of Jesu and the oppressive and apocalyptic atmosphere that many post-metal bands aim for.

The Fear, The Nausea‘ is available to stream in full and is taken from the group’s new EP that has had its development stretched across five long years.

You can sense the sort of music held within from the moment you see it’s minimalist artwork, that sees the words ‘YOU ARE MORTAL’ emblazoned across the front of it. But thankfully, ‘The Fear, The Nausea‘ is little more subtle than that, it slowly convinces you over the course of five minutes that your life is a brief flicker that will suddenly be punctuated by a solid full stop. And no one will remember you. Chin up though, eh?
