You’re probably already privy to the art of Entombedcore, whether you know it or not. I’m talking about the array of pissed off crusty hardcore/grindcore groups coming out of the woodwork lately with grungy monochromatic artwork and pedalboards filled with nothing but the Boss HM-2 pedal. You know, bands like All Pigs Must Die, NAILS, Black Breath, and the center of this news piece, Trap Them, who have just entered Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou’s GodCity Studios.
Interestingly, LambGoat is reporting that the group have tapped former The Red Chord drummer Brad Fickeisen to hit stuff on the record. My knowledge of Trap Them only goes so far, so whether or not they’ve had a recent personnel change — or if this is even a big deal — is beyond me. All I know is that I’m not sick of Entombedcore yet, and this is another album to add to my anticipated releases in 2014. Look out for it around Spring on Prosthetic Records.
