Though Living Sacrifice are Christian death metal pioneers, a mere band of Christcore Bible thumpers, they are not. Faithful as they are, their music speaks for itself and transcends beyond the realm of religion, much like the work of Extol, who killed it this year with their fantastic self-titled reunion record.
The latest track made available from Living Sacrifice’s new album Ghost Thief is the title track, and you can stream it over at Revolver. Vocalist/guitarist Brice Fitzhugh had this to say about the track:
Lyrically, it speaks of how quickly our lives pass. Even if we are blessed to live 80 or 90 years. That is just not very long when calculating humanity’s existence as a whole. So the song refers to the hope that we have in an afterlife and what that existence might look like.
Alright, so clearly the lyrics have a religious connotation, but I’m betting you’ll still like the musical backing. Go check it out. Ghost Thief will be out November 12th on Solid State Records.
