Devil Sold His Soul‘s previous album Empire Of Light was a real sleeper hit for me, after watching their crushing sets at both Damnation Festival and opening for the Gojira/Ghost combo, their sweeping post-metal meets hardcore blend made so much more sense and impact. And despite parting with long-time vocalist Ed Gibbs, now replaced with Paul Green of The Arusha Accord, the band have returned with an album titled with the often fatal moniker of Time.
Fear not though, as the 30th of September release date looks close enough to be set in stone so there won’t be any Wintersun-style shenanigans going on here. In addition, we, at the very least, have some solid evidence of this album existing as the title track was played not once, but twice on the BBC Radio One Rock Show last night — listen here, skipping to 18 minutes and 45 seconds in for the direct route. I’ve only managed to hear it once, but it’s got all those hallmark DSHS characteristics and Green does an excellent job taking over from Gibbs so Time looks to be another solid chapter in their story.
