It wouldn’t be Cloudkicker if Ben Sharp didn’t suddenly pop up and casually announce he has a brand new album ready for release in a couple of weeks.
Subsume will see a release on the 14th of September, available as both digital and vinyl packages through Bandcamp, as is the usual, however those of you looking for a CD copy will be disappointed. The whole situation is detailed in this Tumblr post — TRIGGER WARNING: the post contains references to both buying and listening to music, which we all know are products of the oppressive patriarchy/matriarchy/paedarchy/pantarchy we live in:
Sorry about the delay in publishing details, I went to go buy some shirts. Subsume is the name of the new album and it will be released in two weeks on September 14.
I’m going to do something new and fun this time. As of now, Subsume is available for digital pre-order via Bandcamp (which is now the same thing as cloudkickermusic.com). You will instantly notice that the pre-order is not free, but rather $1 or more. Don’t worry, once the proper album is released it will be done so using the familiar $0 or more.
Not one to leave us empty handed, Sharp also uploaded a remix of the opening track by his brother, known by the name of T16. It continues more down the path trodden by Fade in that appears to be some very chilled and atmospheric post-rock, but it’s always hard to know precisely when it’s a remix. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait long to find out.
