the atlas moth master of blunt hits

I love The Atlas Moth. Their blend of prog, stoner, and doom hits that spot I didn’t even know I was missing when I first heard their latest album, 2011’s An Ache For The Distance. The group are sitting on new material at the moment, but in the mean time, the band will be releasing a compilation of their debut EP Prey For Tides and their covers EP One Amongst The Weed Fields in a new package called Master of Blunt Hits. So much for subtlety!

Here’s the tracklist:

1. Hope For Atlantis
2. Procession: Warning Of The Ancients
3. Waves
4. Beyond The Palace Walls
5. Pray For Tides
6. California Dreamin’ (Mamas & Papas)
7. Fearless (Pink Floyd)
8. Golden (Failure)
9. Five To One (The Doors)
10. Black Trees (Hooray For Earth)

The first pressing of the album in vinyl will ship this winter (fall for the CD/digital), and will be limited to 500 hand-numbered copies in the following colors:

100 – Transparent Milky Clear
150 – Transparent Olive Green
250 – Transparent Orange Crush

Sounds like a good addition to the collection, and at only $15, I’ll probably pick this up! Master of Blunt Hits can be pre-ordered now through GypsyBlood Records.
