During a house party last week, I partook in the great English pass-time that is getting absolutely tanked and then waddling home in the wee hours of the morning only to find myself back on the computer. The next few hours are lost in time, all I know is I ended up with this EP by a band named C£M£NT, emblazoned with cover art that is just a giant foot. A quick Google search suggests I may have picked it up through Tight To The Nail (which you should start reading if you don’t already), but it doesn’t really matter now, all I know is I’ve found the musical equivalent of tequila slammers — it’s fucking stupid, but still fun.

Apparently composed of members from “good & credible hardcore bands”, C£M£NT take the biggest, dumbest riffs and breakdowns you could possibly conceive and create huge two-step anthems out of them, complete with samples from The Simpsons amongst others. This is what I imagine listening to Emmure would be like if they a) were actually a fun hardcore band and b) had a sense of humour. Honestly, it’s summed up by this quote from the Atonement Records page:
C£M£NT is a lesson in stupidity.
Pure pit riffment and minimal consideration for the formality of convention, with a disdain for musical merit existing somewhere between Shattered Realm and a single Suffocation breakdown played in isolation.
Spinkick a train or die trying.
