Trent Reznor, the man who once took the words ‘I want to fuck you like an animal’ and turned it into a surprisingly successful single, is back and gearing up for the release of a new album by the name of Hesitation Marks. But I really don’t think anyone was expecting ‘Everything‘. You can check it out for yourself below from an audio rip of the single’s premier on BBC Radio One yesterday, or through an official HQ stream from NPR.
Yeah, it’s definitely different. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say this was more likely to be a pop-rock group like The Cure getting slightly heavier than one of the most influential industrial acts of all time experimenting with more upbeat melodies. It’s a ballsy move and, if nothing else, this has made me incredibly interested at what other surprises Reznor may have hidden up his sleeve with Hesitation Marks.
