I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for 65daysofstatic. While there’s not a huge amount of metal on show here, this UK group take atmospheric post-rock and feed in all sorts of electronic influences to create some of the most beautiful music you’ll hear all year. ‘PRISMS‘ is taken from the band’s upcoming album Wild Light, that will see a release on the 16th of September in Europe and the 29th of October in America, and really encapsulates what the band are all about:

The video may not be much to look at, but I’ll be damned if this isn’t one the best post-rock tracks I’ve heard in a while. Those sharp electronic drums cut through the reverb drenched synths and what I can only assume are guitars to create a majestic climactic build-up that could put them on par with Pelican or even Isis when it comes to sheer dramatic atmosphere.
