shining video

It seems that Norway’s Shining are always hinting at something interesting. The latest comes in the form of a new music video the band are shooting in the coming weeks, that was revealed by the band via Facebook over the weekend. At a recent show the band threw four t-shirts into the audience and told the receivers to look for a code, printed in the back of the neck.

The post reads as:

For the four people who managed to catch the shirts we threw from the stage yesterday: There’s a number code in the back of the neck, underneath the collar, and an orange info sheet in one of the front pockets.

You’re invited to join us for our next video shoot! Go here to find info and get additional prizes:

The URL leads you to a site where you can submit a code and receive more information, presumably instructions on their participation in the ‘video shoot’. The interesting thing is, this code is an elaborate and really quite interesting system modelled on the work of occultist Francis Barrett put together to give an alternate way of representing the numbers from 0 to 9999, and is explained in great detail from Munkeby himself, here and here.

The only other details I can pull from all this, is that the site is named ‘Blackjazz Rebel’, so I would assume that the video is for ‘Blackjazz Rebels‘ from their most recent release, One One One. And that the still seen above, teased on the Prosthetic Records Facebook page is taken from the preparation from the video. Given the anthemic nature of the track, I guess it’s not too much of a stretch to see a flag in the video. Either way, I’m sure you internet sleuths will know more than I do so chip in if you’ve seen or heard anything, I love this sort of thing.

(Also, writing this, I realised that this Shining don’t have a page on the Encyclopedia Metallum. Don’t know about you, but I’d say they were pretty metal.)
