Hardcore punk act Trash Talk turned quite a few heads last year when it was announced that they had signed to Odd Future Records, home of Tyler The Creator other hip-hop artists. This deal showed an otherwise understated connection between punk and hip-hop. For instance, an Odd Future show could very well come packed with the energy of a punk show with the right audience. Both genres play a big role in skateboard culture, as well. For instance, Trash Talk recently performed at a skate park in Philadelphia, which brought kids in droves wearing Odd Future clothing. This inter-genre connection needs to happen more often.
