Alcest and Anathema Tour

Two of the most outstanding bands when it comes to artful post-rock inspired music are Alcest and Anathema, both of whom have released critically acclaimed albums last year that wound up on my best-of list. If you’re into melancholic atmosphere juxtaposed against upbeat melodies and tempos, both bands pull off the style quite well in different ways. Despite their comparable sounds, it never occurred to me that they’d make one hell of a touring lineup. Turns out, it’s quite perfect on paper!

The duo have just announced a string of co-headlining dates across North America with support from Mamiffer. The dates aren’t too extensive, so you may have to do a bit of traveling to see them if you don’t live in one of the twenty lucky cities listed below:
