In case you’ve been not paying attention, let me give you a recap of the goings on in the world of Behemoth. In August of 2010 Behemoth were forced to cancel shows for an unforeseen amount of time due to Adam “Nergal” Darski being diagnosed with Leukemia. In January of 2011 Nergal left the hematology clinic that he had been at four weeks after receiving a bone marrow transplant. In April of 2012 Nergal said a new album was in the workd for 2013. In early 2013 Behemoth were put on the bill at Rockstar’s Mayhem Festival and As of today, Behemoth have announced that the new record, entitled THE SATANIST, will be released this fall and is nearly done being recorded. Sweet.
Nergal had this to say:
“It took us over two decades to come up with a title that…says it all. While our new songs artistically take surprisingly adventurous directions, our message stands steadfast—Proud and Radical. THE SATANIST stands for undying yearning for liberation and love for freedom in all aspects of life. Considering all our life experiences that often took dramatic curves I couldn’t think of more appropriate and fitting statement of who and where we are now”
I’m super excited for this album, as its been four years since the almighty Evangelion was unleashed upon us all, and I’m even more stoked to see them play at Mayhem this year. Expect more news as it comes in, but be on the lookout and go see the band at Mayhem!
