Dead In The Dirt are elusive at best. Their entire recorded output consists of two EPs released back in 2010 and 2011 respectively, but despite their sparse back catalogue the band caught the attention of the legendary Southern Lord records who snapped the band up, placed them as a direct support to Sunn O))) on their North American excursions and released the aforementioned Fear EP, which took a Nails-like approach to grindcore and comprised some of the most venomous hate I’d heard all year — including a particularly hateful ditty directed towards to an infamous bunch of sub-humans.
Recently though, the band announced they were beginning work on their debut full length this April, entitled The Blind Hole, and while I can’t make head nor tail of the title, if their previous work is anything to go by, 2013 just gained another massively exciting record to add to it’s repertoire. Fans of Gaza, Cursed and Early Graves will all find a new favourite here and, as this is the beautiful age of the internet, you can access what is essentially their entire recorded output right here at Bandcamp.
The Blind Hole looks set for a release sometime later this year through Southern Lord records.
