TheDevilWearsPrada

Say what you want about their beginnings as just another metalcore breakdown band, but The Devil Wears Prada have come a long way. Their latest effort, Dead Throne, completely surprised me with the focused songwriting and was one of my favorite records to come out of 2011. Their shift in style was notably different in the area of heaviness, forming songs rather than breakdowns, and it worked out well. Now they are gearing up to hit the studio again, and are showing it with a new song, which they’ve started to play live. Catch a bootleg of the track below:

Though the quality isn’t the best, it’s sounding really awesome, and even sounds like the heaviest thing they have written. It also looks like they found a replacement for James Baney, who left last year to focus on his family, though no official statement has been made as of late. We’ll keep you updated as details come, but for now, go spin Dead Throne and remind yourself why this band can, and should, be taken seriously. Be on the lookout for the band’s new record, which is due out later this year on Roadrunner Records.
