It’s pretty well known around the Heavy Blog camp that I’m not the biggest fan of death metal. Not that I have anything against the sub-genre, it’s just that I don’t connect with many bands therein. However, there are a handful of straight up death metal acts that I really enjoy, one of those bands that have continually kept my attention through the last half decade is the New York based band Immolation. It’s been nearly two years since the last release from Immolation, the Scion A/V release Providence. And while that EP was rather spectacular, it was more or less just B-sides from the band’s 2010 effort, Majesty and Decay. So it’s about time that the band release another full album.
Now, after three years, the band is gearing up for the release of their next full length studio effort, and it’s time to start letting a few details trickle down the pipeline. While it’s not the most substantial news in the world, the band have finally let us all know that the new album will be dubbed Kingdom of Conspiracy, and will be available through Nuclear Blast on May 14. Expect the usual slow release of album artwork, track listing, and pre-orders shortly. We’ll keep you all informed as news becomes available.
And don’t forget to see Immolation on the second annual Decibel Magazine Tour supporting Napalm Death, and Cannibal Corpse. It starts in May, and you can get your tickets here.
