Baltimore based progressive deathcore band Carthage have parted ways with old bassist Robbie Gossweiler and welcomed Ian Wilmot, of Illuminations, to the fold. Wilmot has posted a video of him playing their song ‘Blackout’, and by all accounts he nails it, especially the difficult riff around halfway through the song.

Carthage frontman and founder Tre Watson had this to say about the new lineup:

“Bit of an Update from us.

We’re sad to say that we’ve Parted Ways With bassist Robby Gossweiler. Robby’s been taking time to do a ton of work over at Manta Ray Recordings and He’s focusing on his other band Hillsmere between it all, He was spread pretty thin, and we think this will be beneficial for all involved. please check both out and give your Support and love.

In his stead We have welcomed our new bassist, Ian Wilmot.
please give him a warm welcome!

other things are in the work. expect a very exciting 2013 from us!

And we hope to see a lot of you very soon!

-Carthage”

We’re excited to hear what Ian brings to the band, and with Carthage playing some shows soon, you can see what he as to offer live if you’re in the area. You can also listen to and buy Carthage’s debut full length album Salt the Earth which we gave a perfect scorehere.
