In probably the weirdest (and most cringe worthy) line-up you’ve ever seen, Mastodon have just confirmed they will be playing the Fly Music Festival in New Delhi and Bangalore, India, along side bands like Anthrax, Nervecell and headliners, Limp Bizkit and Deep Purple (Delhi only). Yes, you read that right. Limp Bizkit is headlining, ahead of bands like Mastodon and Anthrax. I raged as well.
There are only two dates for the festival, one being 16th February in New Delhi and the other 17th February in Bangalore. There’s still some speculation as to what venues will be since it hasn’t been announced yet. So far, the venues seem to be for Delhi NCR — Wave City Centre , Sec 25 A Noida; and Bangalore —- Bharatiya City.
This is the first time Mastodon are coming to India, so consider me the happiest man on Earth when I found out that they would play my city! I just hope it doesn’t turn into another Metallica concert. The Delhi crowd is a rowdy bunch. There aren’t a lot of bands that come to the capital (or India for that matter), with Gojira, Lamb Of God and Xerath all performing down south in Bangalore, we’ve really been losing out on all the good concerts. Hopefully, this should make up for it. And while we’re at it, I think we can find it in our hearts to forgive the festival organizers for putting Limp Bizkit as the headliners.
There are still some more bands that have yet to be announced, so we’ll keep you updated on that as the news comes out.
