After exiting Exotic Animal Petting Zoo a few weeks back, I was left wondering what guitarist Jeff Zampillo would do next with his new project, The Pneumatic Transit. If I remember correctly, he said something along the lines of “its totally gonna be along those Return to Forever, Mahavishnu lines”, and I got my excites ready. I love both RTF and MO quite a bit, and still believe they are two of the most important bands ever.
So earlier this week I got a message about how he had done his rendition of “Christmas Song” by Nat King Cole. I normally hate Christmas songs, because they all sound the same, but this is actually a really well-done effort on Jeff’s part, and proves that he, as a stand-alone guitarist, is capable of creating some beautiful music. We’ll have details about TPT’s debut album as we get them, but for now, get into the Christmas spirit with this.
