Its been two years since Isis called it quits, but they’ve still been able to keep their memory fresh in our minds by releasing live DVDs, b-sides and other compilations. Their newest compilation CD/DVD titled Temporal contains most of their original demos from Wavering Radiant, an album which received a very indifferent reception on its release. Nonetheless, I personally hold the album in high regard and as always the case with ISIS, in my opinion, was a step forward for them. Two other tracks, ‘The Pliable Foe’ and ‘Way Through Woven Branches’, that weren’t included on the album and later released in a split with the Melvins also gets an official release on an Isis CD.

Apart from the CD, the DVD contains all their official music videos. And finally, their last single, ‘The Pliable Foe‘, gets an official video release. The video, like all other Isis music videos, is very artistic with lots of serene scenery that wouldn’t look bad as a wallpaper on your PC. Compliments the track very well, if I do say so myself. Though it seems to follow a story-line, I’ve yet to figure out what it is. If you’ve got any interpretations to it, be sure to leave them in the comments below.

Temporal is now available via Ipecac Recordings.
