It’s no secret that Baroness‘ upcoming double album Yellow & Green is going to be a bit of a step back away from the metal world. We’ve known that for a while, and their previously released track ‘Take My Bones Away is a catchy hard rock anthem that hardly resembles their gritty sludge roots. Normally when bands do this sort of thing, it’s kind of a bummer, but Baroness write some catchy rock jams. Like Torche, they’re turning into what I’m going to call sludge pop.

Their new song ‘March to the Sea’ is no different. You can catch it streaming now over at Pitchfork. Proceed with caution if you hate it when bands have fun. Yellow & Green is due out July 17th on Relapse Records.
