Alright, this is probably the most exciting thing I’ve ever seen in a while. Noneuclid are a progressive/technical/avant-garde death metal band from Germany. Their bass player is Linus Klausenitzer of Obscura. Turns out that Linus’s father, Ulf Klausenitzer is a professor of music. Prof. Klausenitzer has decided to bring together the music of his son’s band and legendary classical composer Wolfgang Richard Wagner to create Transition Metal. This was a one-shot concert filmed in 2010 with the approval of Wagner’s great grand-daughter. Noneuclid play together with an orchestra conducted by Prof. Klausenitzer. They interpret Wagner’s compositions and some Noneuclid songs together as death metal + orchestra. This is pretty amazing. Among other endorsees of the project are Tom G. Warrior of Hellhammer, Celtic Frost and Tryptikon; and the Bavarian State Secretary for science, research and the arts. This is obviously the real deal. Noneuclid are working on releasing this project in some format, and they recently put together this trailer, so it’s not dead. In the meantime, you can listen to some Noneuclid after the jump!
