As you may remember, prog metal sludgemeisters Mastodon and singer/songwriter Feist have teamed up for a split EP where the two acts cover each other’s songs for Record Store Day 2012. Feist covered Mastodon’s ‘Black Tongue’ from The Hunter and Mastodon covered Feist’s ‘A Commotion‘ from Metals. Most of you have likely never heard Feist’s ‘A Commotion’ before, so you can check out a performance of the track below.


It’ll be interesting to see how Mastodon handles the crossover! The 7″ split will be available at participating record stores on April 21st, and on eBay likely marked up in price shortly after.
