New Jeff Loomis music has been dropping quite frequently lately, and I couldn’t be happier. Over the weekend, we got a glimpse at two new Loomis tracks via a guitar playthrough and a stream. Let’s walk through them, shall we?

The first bit of news is a video of Jeff and his rhythm guitarist Joe Nurre playing through and rehearsing a new song called ‘Mercurial.’ Check that out below:

The second is what is most exciting to me personally, a stream of the track ‘Surrender’ featuring Ihsahn! I’ve been dying to hear this collab since it’s been announced, and you can listen to it over at Blabbermouth. This leads me to believe that these two need to pair up more often — and they will on Ihsahn’s next solo album!

Both songs are absolutely excellent and they bode quite well for his sophomore album Plains of Oblivion, which will be available April 10th on Century Media Records. In the mean time, catch him on tour with Protest the Hero, Periphery, and The Safety Fire!
