Guitar playthroughs are pretty much the new music videos for solo artists depending on how well they’re done. I’m actually alright with this trend, as we’ve seen some playthroughs that look glorious. Ontario-based solo artist Tom Meikle (who releases music under the name The Static Voyage) took this concept of a playthrough music video a bit further when he set up a multi-cam shot of him playing his song ‘Inferno‘ in the middle of Dundas Square in Toronto. Must have been awkward plinking away at an unplugged guitar with strangers walking idly by, likely for several takes. The end result looks really cool, though!

If you like what you hear, you can pick up The Static Voyage’s free self-titled EP over at Bandcamp.
