Meshuggah Confirm Album Title Koloss; Unveils Album Art & Tracklisting

So the assumption that the German listing of Meshuggah‘s upcoming album was to be translated to English was incorrect, as the album’s title was confirmed to be Koloss. Can’t win ’em all! We were still in the ballpark; probably in line at the concession.

Here’s a statement from drummer Tomas Haake:

“As always, we try to take our music in a slightly different direction with each album and with KOLOSS we feel that we really nailed what we were going for. Organic brutality, viscera and groove all crammed into a 54-minute metalicious treat, best avoided by the faint of heart!!”

Sounds awesome! I’m all for stepping back on overly-mechanical groove, so an organic and visceral feel to a new Meshuggah album an excellent idea, and I can’t wait to hear it! Here’s the tracklist:

1. I Am Colossus
2. The Demon’s Name Is Surveillance
3. Do Not Look Down
4. Behind The Sun
5. The Hurt That Finds You First
6. Marrow
7. Break Those Bones Whose Sinews Gave It Motion
8. Swarm
9. Demiurge
10. The Last Vigil

Koloss is due out March 27th on Nuclear Blast.
