Apostate are a relatively new metalcore band from Prague, Czech Republic. They’ve been around since 2008, but their 2010 EP Seaborne really caught my eye, and it turned out to be my favorite EP from the year. Apparently they’re quite popular in the Czech Republic, having shared the stage with a few big names in the metalcore scene, including Heavy Blog favorite Arsonists Get All The Girls. They’ve also toured in Europe, and are gaining a lot of steam.

Anyway, they’ve released a (very short) teaser for their upcoming video, “Hermeneutic Circle“, which will be released on October 12th. Here’s the video:

In the meantime you should go check out their songs from their Seaborne EP (which I would have given a 5/5 if I had reviewed it). Here’s my favorite one:

You can listen to the rest of it on their SoundCloud page, and catch a drum video for one of the songs after the jump if you’re interested (no vocals on the drum video)

They are doing a brand of metalcore that is really cool and they’re clearly good at their instruments and songwriting. If there’s any new band to keep an eye out on, these guys are definitely it.
