It seems like TesseracT-related news always hits at the weekend after we’ve finished for the day on Friday. We spread it about on Facebook, but figured it was worth mentioning properly as so many of you are undoubtedly as interested as we are.
The snippet came in the form of an ad video for the forthcoming Lowering The Tone tour, which features TesseracT in the headline spot, supported by Basick boys Chimp Spanner and Uneven Structure. It promises to be absolutely spectacular, and I can’t wait to get down there on Thursday, but that’s not what we’re here for is it?!
Despite the adverse reaction to the announcement of Elliot Coleman as their new vocalist by some, I was more than happy to wait to pass judgement, and if this is anything to go by, I’m actually pretty excited to hear what comes out with him fronting the band.
The vocals in this segment — which displays on the cleans — are very reminiscent of Cedric Bixler-Zavala of The Mars Volta; with that haunting, high-pitched thing going on. It’s not so different from Dan Tompkins, but enough that I’m impressed with the band’s ambition — rather than plumping for a carbon copy.
Anyway, as mentioned the band are on tour as of Thursday, hitting the UK and Europe. Our bros a Got-Djent conducted an interview with tour mates Paul Ortiz of Chimp Spanner and the guitarists from Uneven Structure, which you can find here, along with dates.
