Fleshgod Apocalypse‘s highly anticipated sophomore album Agony is on the horizon, and Nuclear Blast has been kind enough to provide us all with a taste of what is to come from these chaotic symphonic death metallers. The new song, “Violation,” can be downloaded for free at this location; of course, someone uploaded the track to Youtube, so you can stream this punishing new track above.
Fleshgod are big names ’round these parts, as evidenced by the fact that both Damien and I had done drafts of posts about this news at apparently the same time. Here’s his take on the track:
It definitely sounds like a continuation of their work on Mafia, and even though the clean vocals get a little over the top at some points, I’m still thinking they’re a good inclusion. The classical elements are still there but don’t come across as overbearing and for those of you with a more traditional taste, this all comes wrapped in some very brutal death metal packaging.
Agony will be available August 9th on Nuclear Blast, and it will be glorious. Be sure to catch Fleshgod on the upcoming Summer Slaughter tour as well!
