OK, so Nader Sadek is a name I’ve been hearing quite a lot lately. Mostly due to the fact that the Egyptian born conceptual artist, who has previously collaborated with bands such as Mayhem and Sunn O))), has just released his first record In The Flesh (an album centered around the place that petroleum holds within society) and it contains contributions from a pretty stellar cast. The band is made up of Steve Tucker (ex-Morbid Angel) on vocals, Blasphemer (Mayhem) on guitar, Nick McMaster (Krallice) and Flo Mounier (Cryptopsy) on drums and guest appearances include Attila Csihar (Mayhem), Travis Ryan (Cattle Decapitation), Destructhor (Morbid Angel) and Mike Lerner (Behold… The Arctopus). Quite the line up, ain’t it? Don’t worry, the music is pretty damn good too – check out the video for “Sulffur” below, it’s the second part in a three-part video being shot for the album.
Reminds me a little of each band involved really but I suppose primarily it sounds like early Morbid Angel with a few Mayhem inspired riffs and there’s definitely nothing wrong with that. Anyway, you think that was good? Just wait till you see the video for the first part of the trilogy, “Nigredo In Necromance”!

Yeah, you totally just watched three full minutes of a man fingering a some sort of vagina/guitar before making out with a severed head. Who’s haunting your dreams now!? Nader Sadek, that’s who! It’s like if GWAR turned blackened death metal and tried to make a serious point. Either way, the music is pretty good so I’ll be picking up In The Flesh as soon as I can.
