I nearly had a God damn heart attack this morning, something which was already fragile over the sad news about Monuments earlier this week. Luckily, this is not the end for tech outfit Cyclamen – just the end of the current lineup, which will leave mastermind Hayato Imanishi in sole charge once more. So, I guess rather than an outfit, the band is now some sort of onesie?
Anyway, this is the announcement from the band this morning:
After a year and half of playing together as Cyclamen, we are sad to announce that current lineup of the band is splitting up.
This is due to some of us having other commitments and interests which prevent them from committing to the band fully. The band has become something far bigger than I ever imagined and it is requiring increasingly more commitments from all of us.
This is an amicable decision and we’re still all good friends!
Cyclamen will be continuing as solo project for now writing new release, until suitable replacements are found somewhere in this globe.
So now I am announcing new search for band members starting with the drummer. There is no restriction whatsoever – you can be whatever the age, wherever you are, whoever you are as long as you have what it takes.
If you are interested please contact Hayato by email: [email protected] with a link of your past recording/performance! Please spread the word :)
I’d like to take this opportunity to say massive thanks to Duncan, Ed, Nano and Olly for giving me amazing opportunity and experience of being in the band together and I wish them all the best of luck for their future.
But most importantly, thank you to all of you for supporting Cyclamen and bringing it this far – Your continuous support is much appreciated and it will take Cyclamen to something even greater!
Hayato and Duncan, Ed, Nano and Olly
I remember when it was just Hayato – the days of “Never Ending Dream” and “Djent! Djent!” (totally before djent was cool), so whilst we won’t be seeing them live for a while, there will still be music coming from the Cyclamen camp, fear not!
