In Flames are one of the bands in the metal community that are under constant fire for their drastic change in sound. Long gone are the pioneering melo-death albums and at this point you’ve either come to accept their change or throw them away in a musical garbage bin. Love ’em or hate ’em, they’re here to stay and despite the flak they get, I’m in the minority of fans who grew up listening to their old material and still likes their new work. No doubt The Jester Race and co. is their best work, but I can dig the new stuff if I look at them as a whole new band. With all that said, In Flames have posted the music video for their first single, “Deliver Us”, off the upcoming album Sounds Of A Playground Fading. Check it out here:
I kinda liked the video! It’s certainly better than the god awful “The Mirror’s Truth” one (at least to me). And hey! The song isn’t too shabby either. I’m definitely enjoying the tune more than anything on A Sense of Purpose.
Sounds Of A Playground Fading drops June 21st and while it’s probably nothing to be overtly excited about, it’ll be worth checking out I’m sure.
