Instrumental progressive rock/metal band Scale The Summit (who will be on tour with Periphery and Fair To Midland this spring) will be releasing their new album The Collective on March 1st, kicking off what will now be referred to as Prog-Metal March.

March of 2011 already sees releases from bands such as Scale the Summit, Tesseract, Protest the Hero, Drewsif Stalin’s Musical Endeavors, Obscura, and The Human Abstract. All of that deliciousness within the course of the month. If that isn’t a good sign for 2011 to come, I don’t know what is. Prepare yourselves! Heavy Blog plans to make an occasion out of it. How should we celebrate Prog-Metal March? Let us know in the comments section!

So, to reiterate, Scale The Summit’s The Collective is out March 1st on Prosthetic Records. You can pre-order it at this location. Thanks to our pal Scott at Hook In Mouth for the heads up on this tasty news!
