Yesterday, Periphery debuted their new video for “Jetpacks Was Yes!”, sporting a new and longer version of the album version. The vocals are redone to include more powerful harmonies and the screaming in the bridge was replaced by singing. If it weren’t for the terrible quality on the video, it definitely makes the song sound more passionate. The new mix will most likely appear on the group’s upcoming Icarus Lives! EP, which will include remixes and at least one new song.
The video itself is pretty decent, with special effects being less that stellar, but it’s certainly not bad. It beats playing in a warehouse. At least the song is most excellent! You’ll have to check it out over at NME, because the embed code doesn’t work. Ain’t that about a bitch?
Update: Metal Injection has the hookups and has a much better quality below!
Much to the chagrin of some of the so-called “elite,” I made Periphery’s debut album my album of the year in 2010. I still stand by Periphery, which is out now on Sumerian or Roadrunner Records depending on where you live. Check it out if you haven’t, but if you’re on Heavy Blog, chances are you’ve already heard it. Preachin’ to the choir.
