I’ve talked about Ever Forthright before, and they showed potential to be big names in this new wave of progressive metal that seems to be on the rise. Their djent + jazz approach to songwriting was actually a fresh take on the genre that is already gaining a cookie-cutter status. Their name will no doubt be propelled out there further now that ex-Periphery vocalist Chris Barretto (who apparently gets around!) has been attached to the project, performing both vocals and playing saxophone.

The band has posted the song “Latency and Tendencies,” complete with vocals and sax. The song can be streamed below.

That full-on jazz break is super sexy.

More word on a future release when I get it. I know I’m looking forward to it!
