I’ve never listened to Arsonists Get All The Girls until today when I saw a press release on Blabbermouth that described them as “progressive hardcore/death metallers”. Their name turned me off before, as I expected the name to come from some sort of scene pop punk band or something of that nature. I gave their music on myspace a listen and it’s better than I expected it to be. Their sound can best be described as experimental deathcore, using keys and synth to build up their sound. Although it certainly isn’t an original idea, as a handful of other bands like this use keys in their sound, but they still manage to stand out with their own sound. AGATG takes influence from bands such as Cryptopsy, Dream Theater, and Between the Buried and Me.

So, AGATG have completed work on their new album, “Portals”, for a July 14 release via Century Media Records. After the jump, check out a few videos of the band in studio. They seem like they are genuinely fun guys. The music I’m hearing in the videos tells me their music is progressing and taking a good step forward. I’ll be keeping an eye out for this release, and so should you.
