Sounding like a melodic version of The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, Tre Watson‘s new song “His Name Is Clover J. Fields And He Hates Babies” is one killer jam. The title is pretty awesome, if I do say so myself. You can blame me for that one if you hate it, in which case you are no fun and your vagina is showing.

You can check out “Clover J. Fields” below. It is from his upcoming sophomore solo album, Empirical Dichotomy. It is tentatively due out later this year, but some computer shit happened and he has to re-record just about everything. Fucking technology is a double-edged sword, man.

This past summer has been full of great tours here in North America, and one of the ones I’ve been most excited for is the Over The Limit Tour. With a fairly solid lineup of mostly techy deathcore bands, with a few exceptions, I was expecting a pretty good show. I’ll go ahead and tell you I was disappointed with what some of them had to offer, but the show only cost me $10 and it was only an hour drive to Ground Zero in Spartanburg SC from where I live so I’m not complaining.

Yesterday, a new Oceano tour was announced in the way of the Over The Limit Tour, in which they co-headline with As Blood Runs Black. Normally when I see headlines such as this in my RSS Feed, I ignore them. But this time, I had to take a look, as Arsonists Get All The GirlsThe Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, and Circle of Contempt are also on the tour. Circle of Contempt are good, but Danza and Arsonists are god-tier in the scene as far as I’m concerned and them touring together is enough for my pants to get a little tight. The fact that they have to open for this shit deathcore band Oceano is proof that there is no justice in this world.

Also in the lineup: Thick as Blood, Burning The Masses, Blindwitness, with Sons of Aurelius and This or the Apocalypse on select dates. I don’t particularly care enough about any of them, but that’s besides the point. Danza and Arsonists are going to be on tour together. Get excited.

Here’s the plan: Show up, see show, leave before Oceano comes on.

A band like The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza is hard to digest. Their brand of technical metalcore is abrasive, loud, fast, and just a little weird. A lot of people don’t “get” Danza, but those that do will be blown away by their newest effort.

Danza III: The Series Of Unfortunate Events is a continuation and a progression on the Danza sound of groovy tech metal with a further explored touch of atmosphere. Since their last album, Danza have underwent a lineup change that would cripple any band, but having multi-instrumentalist Josh Travis step up to guitar and bass duties for the album’s creation has done wonders. Danza are sounding as good as, if not better than, they ever were.

The Union: New TTDTE

For those unknowing of the way of The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, these guys are currently a 3 piece band that walk the borders of technical metalcore/deathcore and mathcore with every song. Their discography currently only consists of two albums (The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, and Danza II: The Electric Boogaloo a humor filled yet unrelenting album with sketches of a bar dive that turns dangerous in between some songs), with a third on the way which will be titled Danza III: A Series of Unfortunate Evens. Recently the band posted a new fully mastered track titled The Union on their myspace. The new album is shaping up to more technical crazy ass Danza that only takes a break to engulf you in beautiful melodic and big sections. The new album features extensive use of 8 string guitars tuned down to E and will be available July 6th, so look out for that. Also, peep their other stuff.
