New Napalm Death Track ‘Leper Colony’ Streaming At Brooklyn Vegan

As you may or may not know, grindcore legends Napalm Death will be releasing a new album Utilitarianism next month. It was only a matter of time until we heard a new song from this merry bunch of brutal Brits, and you can now stream a new song from the record, ‘Leper Colony,‘ over at Brooklyn Vegan. It is everything you’d want and hope for out of Napalm Death, so get over there and give it a spin.

Speaking of Napalm Death, they’ll be one of the headliners at Maryland Deathfest X this year, which I will be attending. There are still some tickets available for Fri-Sun, but Thursday and 4-day passes are unfortunately sold out. If you still want to go to MDF this year, you need to act fast.

Utilitarianism is due out February 28th on Century Media.

Your Favorite Metal Blogs Are Going To Maryland Deathfest!

We might be finally bringing our online community into the real world when Heavy Blog Is Heavy and The Number Of The Blog meets up next summer for Maryland Deathfest 2012. As it stands now, Quigs and Snags from TNOTB and Noyan and I from HBIH will be in Baltimore for all four days! Now, anything could come up in the next eight months or so, but the plan is for us to meet up and enjoy the biggest death metal festival in North America. Tickets have been purchased, and we are beyond excited!

While we’re there, we hope to interview bands and review sets. I plan on doing an old-fashion personal blog on the experience, but maybe if there’s enough interest and demand, we may live-blog throughout the day. It’s up to you folks! We’re going and we have the tools to report back to you, so please let me know in the comments section below what you want and expect from us while we’re in Baltimore next May.

You can purchase tickets and check out all the cool details (lineup, running order, hotel and venue info) over at the Maryland Deathfest website and let us know if you plan on going! We’ll talk more about this when it gets closer to the date, but consider this a heads up. Tickets might sell out well in advance!

Maryland Deathfest IX Lineup Announced. GET SOME.

North America has always been behind when it comes to metal festivals. Europeans get all the breaks in that regard. Wacken, Roadburn, Damnation Fest, Rock Am Ring, Rock Im Park, Pinkpop, etc etc. The list goes on.

We don’t get that luxury very often. We have a few, like the semi-recent Scion Fest and the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival. However, one of America’s metal fest highlights has to be Maryland Deathfest, a four day event (May 26th to May 29th) in Baltimore, Maryland. The lineup for the 2011 iteration has been announced, and it looks pretty damn cool.
