Corelia 2013 tour

Corelia simply aren’t active enough. I know that it isn’t the band’s fault or anything, as they’re a relatively small band that have “real” jobs and obligations to take care of. Though with their critical fanfare and extended family tree that includes Periphery (Spencer Sotelo was in the band for a minute) and The Human Abstract (vocalist Ryan Devlin was a live fill-in when their vocalist bailed), they should have more than an EP and smaller tours under their belts. Labels, sign these dudes please.

Though their on-and-off downtime over the last year or so has lead me to miss their existence, Corelia are getting back in action with a regional tour out West with support from I, Omega and Seeker. Here are the dates:

02/14 St. Louis, MO – Fubar
02/15 Oklahoma City, OK – The Parish
02/16 Tyler, TX – The Oil Palace (“Outrage Festival“)
02/17 Austin, TX – The Hole In The Wall
02/18 Roswell, NM – The Unity Center
02/19 Albuquerque, NM – Amped Performance Center
02/20 El Paso, TX – Gallery 127
02/21 Mesa, AZ – The Nile Underground
02/22 Las Vegas, NV – The Cheyenne Saloon
02/23 Fullerton, CA – The Anchor

If you’re lucky enough to have them come to a city near you, go out and support the band. Tours like this are typically self-financed aside from possible contributions from sponsors (Warwick, Ernie Ball, and Toontrack in this case), so make sure these lovely guys don’t go home broke. If you’ve slept on this band, you can hear their Nostalgia EP below:

I, Omega

Formerly know as The Syncope Threshold, this group from Upland, CA changed their name to I, Omega back in January of this past year. They play a progressive and technical brand of metal in the same vein as I Am Abomination, Protest The Hero, and Corellia, although they can sometimes have more of a punky feel to their music. They released one album under their old name last year, titled Tale Of The Complex Circuit and I think it’s a pretty nice piece of work. I’ll go ahead and say that some people will probably hate this band because of the vocals; they may take some getting used to but I’ve grown to enjoy the vocals of front man Joseph Garcia. Anyways, if you enjoy listening to any of the bands I mentioned above then be sure to check I, Omega out on myspace. Also, here is one of my favorite tracks from Tale Of The Complex Circuit:

(The quality of this video is kind of crappy but it’s better on the actual album)
