Well, here we are in the final week of the Scratchy Band Logo Awards. Hopefully you have enjoyed reading my thoughts. I definitely had an awesome time writing them down. Without further ado, here are the final five best logos.

5. FUCK THE FACTS

Fuck the Facts are my hometown heroes. I enjoy this logo for it’s symmetry and because it looks like a ransom note. It has a the vibe of a carnival that’s been hacked up by an axe murderer. I don’t have a lot to say about this one, but it pleases my eyes.

California deathcore piece Arsonists Get All The Girls have posted a new song titled “Dr. Teeth” on Facebook for all of our listening pleasure. It’s more of the same awesomeness we’ve come to expect from these guys, so do not fret! Listen to it right here. You’re going to have to “Like” them to hear it, but that shouldn’t be an issue because you already have…right?

Prepare your butts for their new album Motherland, which is set to be released May 17th on Century Media.

Yay, a day for new music!

Arsonists Get All The Girls are streaming a new song, “Avdotya,” over on their facebook page. The song is exactly how you’d expect AGATG to sound after 2009′s Portals—awesome. Spastic and proggy deathcore riffs with quirky keyboard leads are in abundance. It’s good to know they aren’t straying too far from the path. If the album is anything like the single or Portals, then it will definitely be “album of the year” potential.

Motherland will be available May 17th on Century Media.

Here’s another North American spring tour to get excited about! The Return To The Motherland Tour, featuring Arsonists Get All The Girls, A Plea For Purging, Lionheart, The Contortionist, and Volumes. Typically, no matter how awesome some of the bands on a tour may be, there will also usually be one or two  bands on the bill that blow. This tour is an exception though; even though I don’t love every band, there aren’t any that I hate either (except maybe Lionheart, but that’s more because of my personal musical tastes). Of course, I’m most excited to see The Contortionist again, because they put on an amazing show, and Exoplanet is awesome. This is going to be a great tour, so don’t miss it!  You can check out the dates after the jump.

If this new Arsonists Get All The Girls album is anything like 2009′s Portals (and by the looks of things, it’s going to be), then we’ve got best of the year potential on our hands here.

The as of yet untitled AGATG album is due out this May on Century Media. Beyond stoked on this.

Portals is an underrated album and was most definitely one of my favorites from 2009. That album saw a more serious and progressive turn for Arsonists Get All The Girls, which will hopefully continue into their new album, which is due out later this year!

As I promised when I posted about this tour back in January and saw Norma Jean play at the Nile Theater live on March Second for their Explosions II tour, here’s a review of the gig.

Just as expected, Norma Jean did not disappoint. Their set was pure energy with every member playing their heart out, lead by their very passionate front man Cory Putman.  I’m going to try to piece together the show as best as I remember it. I won’t have you believe this is exactly how their set list was played. I’m too active a concert-goer to take notes. I headbang, I jump, and I scream every lyric I know when I’m at a small-venue concert.

Here’s the 2nd Arsonists Get All The Girls studio update off their currently untitled new album due for release sometime this year. It has some sexy bass and guitar work along with the usual goofing off. It’ll be a good one!

Check after the jump if you missed the first update!

When it comes to deathcore, there’s a handful that does it right. Arsonists Get All The Girls, despite their silly name, are one of these bands that combine the deathcore style with experimental and progressive aspects to make something at least half-way unique in delivery. In fact, Portals was one of my favorites of 2009 (behind BTBAM and Devin Townsend Project of course).

AGATG are sitting on a new album and preparing to hit the studio to track what will sure to be a HBIH chart-topper for 2011. Check out the press release:

California’s purveyors of both metal fury and fun ARSONISTS GET ALL THE GIRLS are set to head into the studio and are recording their new album with Zack Ohren at Castle Ultimate. The as-yet-untitled will be their third slab of craziness for Century Media and fourth overall but, this time, vocalist Jared Monnette says the band is developing a brand new sound:
