It’s not what’s used James, it’s how it’s used. If you took off your goggles of blind rage for a minute and had a look at the array of different types of band we post about then you’d realise this. Not that it particularly matters, but I actually really like post-hardcore. As with any genre there’s good and bad though, and whilst your opinion is just as valid as mine, I don’t get mad if someone disagrees with it. Sure, you’re annoying the ever living crap out of me, but I’m only human and it’s been a long day, so I’m taking the bait.

We’re fine with synths; our love of Genghis Tron is legendary. We’re cool with breakdowns too: Between the Buried and Me, The Chariot, and a myriad of other bands we adore use them…SPARINGLY. How can something be effective when you use it five times in every song? 

We talk about the music we like. It’s our prerogative because, you know, we can actually be arsed to do something worthwhile with our time and be a part of something constructive, rather than talking about our one-man “deathcore/trance project” that we’re too lazy to make anything of. If you ever do manage to crank out anything even remotely listenable, good luck getting anywhere without the support of the press. One dumb kid from the midlands who spends most of his time constructing a complete load of inane bollocks for a last.fm page isn’t really the stuff internet sensations are made of.

We tend not to talk about that which we don’t, but we can’t come across like we’re brown-nosing everything, so we’ll give some other stuff a chance, but generally it doesn’t prove us wrong. We’re sorry our taste doesn’t fit with yours. Would you like a hug? Would that make you feel better?

Probably not. Oh well.

“we said what we thought in a professional manner” = a formal way of slagging off bands but in a “polite style with serviet to boot” pass me the sickbag.  ever heard the term opinions are a******s everyone has one? but fight fire with fire here, your being juvenile about your replies and reviews so ima call you up on that weather you want or not.

is it not obvious you hate bands for being scene and not intake what they are capable of.. all these metal blogs are the same.. I dont mind older stuff actually, i listen to copious amounts of death metal and black metal (omg can you believe that) but i hate it when you go in for the kill on bands when they use synth or catchy melodies, breakdowns and stufe namely deathcore and post-hardcore, im not saying you should’nt im saying there is an audience like me for everything and anything, i doubt this will make any sense  to you but hell with it. off topic im in a band called The Train Wheel Decapitation Experience, look out for me becuase you will hate my stuff hardcore and i will enjoy the attention

Your polite and well-reasoned arguments (lol) aside, are you really unable to accept OPINION? That’s what a review is, dumbass – conjecture. By the reviews you’ve commented on – namely Asking Alexandria, The Bunny The Bear, Jamey Jasta and Dr. Acula – it’s clear you favour a certain type of music.

We don’t. Those reviews were written by three separate writers.  What does that tell you?

We didn’t slag them off. We said what we honestly thought, in a professional manner. If you can’t accept that then you’ve got more than a bit of growing up to do mate.

Thanks dude, we appreciate the positive feedback!! As for reviewing older albums, we currently have two columns (From The Archive & Obscure Gems) that focus on older or rare albums. We don’t give them a rating, but we do give them a review of sorts, so readers can get insight about the album, or the band themselves. We like to spread the love we have for these bands/albums in hopes that someone reading our articles will check them out…

For example, Wormwood by TAS got a 2/5 on here, I have to agree. I love TAS, and the album is heavy and fun live, but it lacked creativity to me and was not as diverse as Continent.

Then you could do a “Rewind: Review” or some shit and review Continent or something like that.
