Heavy Blog Is Heavy is now in a convenient mobile scheme for those of you who browse on your iPods and iPhones, and I assume it’ll also appear similarly for those using other mobile devices too.
Thanks to deseee of The Number of The Blog for pointing me in the right direction of setting this up.

If anyone out there tried to sent an email over to mail(at)heavyblogisheavy(dot)com, I did not receive them. DreamHost’s email forwarding system is apparently shitty and didn’t do what it was supposed to do. I now have G-Mail handling all of HBIH’s email, so we now have a reliable mail system.
So once again, if anyone out there tried to shoot us an email, please send it again. Sorry for any inconvenience!
We are still looking for contributors. Send us a review or an article and I’ll get you started posting here. We need more content and variety going on here at Heavy Blog. We’re looking forward to hearing from you!

In the process of changing the header and page background, I somehow managed to make the header appear twice. I’ll try to get that fixed as soon as possible.
UPDATE:
Alright, I got it fixed!

I’ve been thinking and I decided that our rating system for album reviews is pretty loose and needs more clarification. I felt that it was a little arbitrary and confusing. And it made it kinda difficult to give albums a real rating and be 100% comfortable with it. Like Mitch said in the comments section of my Blackjazz review:
“If you give an album a 5/5 I’m going to kick you in the face.”
I felt like I wanted it to be a little more possible to give an album 5/5 (or 1/5, as the case may be). So here’s the new scale of whole numbers. Use common sense for any variation including .5 ratings.

1/5: Awful, Horrible

2/5: Boring, Nothing Special

3/5: Okay, Worth A Listen

4/5 Pretty Good, going on Great

5/5 Amazing, Awesome, Excellent
I think (and hope) that this helps. Any suggestions? Make em in the comments!

So what the hell happened?
Loss of interest and lack of free time. Mitch’s computer broke, he moved to Texas. I got a job and school started. Life’s a bitch.
Well I’m still paying for the domain name, and since it’s the season of a million BEST OF lists, we’re back and looking for additional contributors to fill our gaps. Think you got what it takes to write in a blog no one cares about? Send an album review or editorial piece to heavyblognews (AT) gmail (DOT) com.
See you soon.

Sorry for the drop in updates. There’s been a general lack of news worth posting, I’ve been kinda busy, and Mitch’s video card exploded (more or less) shortly after the blog was started, so it’s been mostly me.
I might be heading up to Louisville next weekend to catch the Summer Slaughter tour courtesy of Metal Injection’s contest. I’ve been on a roll with these contests. I won one recently on MetalSucks. The internet has been kind to me.
I’ll try to get videos and pics up here. Stay awesome and be patient. I’ll try to review the new IWABO album soon. Here’s a preview: It pretty much sucks.

The ironic redundancy is ridiculous, I know, but we are on our way to becoming more official looking.
Awesome. I for one, am pretty stoked for the new domain name. As a new blog, we will continue to grow with time. We recently broke 100 views the other day and we got a 7.5 rating right out of the bat on blogged.com. The first week is looking better than I expected.
Keep checking back for more here on HBIB!

We’ve already done three album reviews here at Heavy Blog Is Heavy, but we haven’t given an official rating to any of them. That’s where these guys come into play. You’ve seen them in the blog header, now here they are!
Meet Crunchy, The Heavy Bird

These little guys will be our very own in-house visual representation of the typical five-star scale. Here’s an example of how a perfect score would work:

Pretty awesome, eh? You bet it is. Keep a look out for Crunchy in the future visually representing our two cents about things.
